We know what you’re thinking: “It looks great, but how much is it going to cost me?”
When it comes to artificial grass, maybe an equally important question to ask yourself is, “What is it costing me not to install artificial grass?”
Consider this: In a given year, you will spend considerable amounts of money on watering, fertilization, mowing, and pest control. When you think about everything that goes into keeping grass green and pest free, the costs add up quickly. Conservatively, a homeowner in Northeast Florida may spend over $1,500 a year to maintain their lawn.
Artificial grass, while the initial investment is more expensive than natural sod and the associated irrigation, will pay for itself after about 4 and half years. Along the way, caring for your artificial grass lawn is virtually maintenance free (just blow off debris!).
At IntelliTurf of Jacksonville, we pride ourselves on the quality of our installations. That, combined with our premium turf, is what makes us who we are:
We excavate the existing area 3 to 4 inches.
Installing the Proper Base
We replace the existing dirt, sod, and whatever else may be there with a crushed stone base, compact it, and then add a layer of fine screenings to make it ultra-smooth.
We only use premium turf made in the USA. Our revolutionary 3D shape yarns reflect sunlight keeping the surface temperature 17 degrees cooler than traditional synthetic grass. Our turf also has a DuraFlo fabric backing, which allows water to flow right through––3 times as fast as hole punched turf!
Seaming and edging
We further set ourselves apart with the care we take in seaming the individual pieces of turf. At the end of the day, seams are a reality, but we do our best to minimize them to make the installation as natural looking as possible.
Infill sand is applied over the turf for the purpose of giving the turf weight, but equally important is to help the individual blades remain vertical. Remember: gravity wants to win. With infill sand, combined with our industry leading yarn shapes, IntelliTurf grass stands up longer over time.
